Research of hierarchical representation and quantitative method for virtual battle terrain

Representation and quantitative method for DEM of virtual battle terrain is one of some key factors in equipment combat simulation, which results decide accuracy and efficiency of path planning for CGF in combat simulation. This paper introduces the basic conception of DEM model and hierarchical space representation method firstly, there gives representation models based-on slope analysis and visibility analysis, gets concrete results through tests and compares advantages and disadvantages during different route planning.
