A Study of EM Backscattering of a Target Over Two-Dimensional Oceanic Surface Based on a High Frequency Hybrid Method
This paper studies backscattering properties of a target over a two-dimensional oceanic surface in high frequency. The backscattering radar cross section (RCS) of the oceanic surface is calculated by the Kirchhoff approximation (KA). The backscattered RCS of the target is computed based on the physical optics (PO) and taking the edge diffraction into account In addition, the ray tracing method (RT) is used to simulate the coupling effect between the oceanic surface and target. The numerical results of the composite backscattering RCS from a schnabelia station above a two-dimensional oceanic surface are in good agreement with the experiment data.
