The Implementation and Analysis of Low Power Scheme on a Wireless Sensor Node
A wireless sensor network is a network of small sensor nodes that is very useful for many monitoring applications, e.g.environment, agriculture, etc.. Each sensor node in the network is an e ibedded system that holds a small processor, a radio transceiver and one or more sensors.Together, a number of sensor nodes can actually be networked to perform a certain task.As it occurs in every embedded system environment, power management becomes a vital issue to consider thoroughly - wireless sensor networks are not an exception. In this paper, we try to explore a simple implementation of a wireless sensor network with a low-power scheme, i.e. turning off the processor and radio while not in use. The network needs first to be synchronized so that, later, the sensor nodes are able to exchange messages and perform the low-power mechanism while not actively executing its task.
