Creating a knowledge construction model for blog-based learning: A case study of citizenship education
Online learning has become a popular approach in school since the Internet can be accessed easier than ever.As one of Web 2.0 applications, blogs emerged and, stressed information sharing and user-centered design.Although blogging is a popular technology adopted in educational settings, it has limitations about representing the knowledge of blog entries efficiently and structurally.On the other hand, cognition abilities should be emphasize in learning and Internet-surfing process since students require better organizing, analyzing, and applying ability while facing hundreds of information, in this sense, this study sets out to develop a knowledge construction model based on revision of B!ooms Cognitive Taxonomy in which the teacher guides students to construct individual knowledge structure by means of reading, writing, tagging, and classifying blog entries.To achieve this goal, we devise a blog platform and use an ISO standard, topic maps technique, to depict knowledge structure.
