The Evaluation of Online Learning Environment Building: Theoretical and Technical Support

This article reviews the researches related to the evaluation of online learning environment in order to provide a picture of how to evaluate the online learning experience.The relevant literatures are examed from the following three dimensions: the theoretical framework of evaluation, the practical concerns of evaluation, and the technical support for the data analysis in the specific areas of evaluation.The results of reviewing indicate that such elements for the evaluation of online learning environment building become indispensable as the analytical frameworks including network participant structures and process assessment of interaction, the practical concerns about the indicators of online learning environment building and the interaction and coherent synthesis, and the analyzing techniques in the specific areas such as satisfaction, knowledge construction, content analysis, social network analysis, role analysis, and power an llysis.
