Development of E-Consulting Model for Small and Medium Enterprises in Thailand

As society continues its march to the future, technology becomes increasingly integrated into every aspect of humans daily lives, however many Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), particularly in Thailand consider the technologies as expensive, complicated and unsuitable for the small business environment.Econsulting meanwhile is an efficient and cost effective tool for fostering Thai SME development. It can lead to cost saving through better utilization of users time, efficiencies in personnel resources in providing education, consulting, and training as well as reductions in physical requirements.Though there are some e-consulting tools for Thai SME provided from government and private sectors, but there are few models which optimal balance between the contribution of external consultants and SME that will allow the minimization of the total cost while assuring the knowledge acquisition. Therefore the purpose of this proposed paper is to develop a prototype of e-consulting model for Thai industrial SME, by collecting data through questionnaire survey from SME consultants and analyze through statistical method. The result indicated that there were four components to create e-consulting model for Thai SME includes e-consulting service provider, e-consulting contents, qualified e-consultant, and SME users.
