Domestication or Foreignization: It All Depends

摘要：

The complexity of culture makes it impossible to discuss and translate culture as a whole.Culture is embodied in specific cultural elements.Translating culture means translating cultural elements.As these cultural elements are numerous, to render them, certain classification becomes necessary, which will help translators decide on a proper translating strategy.This paper presents a new dimension to stratify cultural and explores the possibility of choosing a proper strategy in translating cultural elements from the perspective of cultural stratification.
