Coupling of Element Free Galerkin and Natural Boundary Element Method foi problems in unbounded domains
Element free Galerkin (EFG) is one of the meshless methods. And natural boundary element method (NBEM)is a new type of boundary element method. These two method have advantages respectively. In order to make full use of their advantages, the coupling method of element free Galerkin and natural boundary element is designed to solve infinite plane elastic problem with a square hole. The domain, where the problem is defined, is divided into two parts by introducing an artificial boundary: one part is bounded sub-domain, another unbounded sub-domain. NBEM is used for describing the unbounded problem while EFG for bounded part. A program for coupling method is compiled. The results show that the coupling method is more effective than the finite element method by comparing the calculation results.
