Electrochemical Investigation on Ti4+ Ion Reduction from Fluoride Melts with K2TiF6
In this paper LiF-CaF2 melt was selected as a supporting electrolyte, and K2 TiF6 as an active species,Ti ion reduction process was investigated on a tungsten electrode by cyclic voltammetry(CV)and square wave voltammetry(SWV)at the temperature of HOOK. The results showed that there existed four reduction peaks and four corresponding oxidization peaks, which changed with K2 TiF6 content in the melt, they are redox couples of Ti4+/Ti3+ , Ti3+/Ti2 +and Ti2+/Ti0 as well as Ti3+/Ti0 according to the electron transfer numbers calculated from the square wave volta-mmograms results.
