Equipment Developed by International Company ANTARES for Electron Beam Melting of Titanium Ingots
The experience of International Company ANTARES in development and installation of electron-beam furnaces for metallurgical production of titanium is generalized. Some technical and technological aspects of organising the production of ingots and slabs (ingots of a rectangular shape) on the basis of the electron-beam melting technology are considered. Technical characteristics of furnace VT02 of a new generation are given. New principles of designing of vacuum chambers embodied in furnace VT02, which provide a more rational utilisation of their volume.reduction of weight of the chambers and improvement of their rigidity and safety during operation,are stated. Technical and economic parameters of existing furnaces VT01 and furnace VT02 of a new generation are compared.
