Deformation Textures of β Phase and α″ Phase in Cold-Rolled Ti-Nb Alloys

Deformation textures of β phase (parent) and α″ phase (martensite) were investigated in cold-rolled Ti-Nb binary alloys. Ti-(20,30)at. %Nb alloy ingots were fabricated using an Ar arc melting method and homogenized at 1273 K for 7. 2 ks and then quenched into water. The ingots were cold-rolled at room temperature with a reduction of 98. 5% in thickness. A well-developed 001β <110>β texture was observed in the Ti-30Nb alloy, while a weak 101α″<151>α″ texture was observed in the Ti-20Nb alloy.
