Effect of Si-Addition as a Grain Refiner on Microstructure and Properties of Ti-6A1-4V Alloy
Recently it has been found that silicon addition in small quantities refine the microstructure and improve some of the mechanical properties of Ti-6A14V alloys. A refinement in as-cast,swaged and heat treated condition was observed when silicon (0. 5%) is added and this accompanied with study of microsture and mechanical properties at each conditions
