A Quantitative Approach of Dislocation Mobility in Ti64 and β-metastable Ti-alloys Using TEM in Situ Experiment
TEM in situ tensile tests have been performed both on Ti-64 alloy and on p-metastable Ti-alloys. As the dislocation motion in such Ti-alloys is governed by the propagation of the screw segments, an experimental approach is used to quantify the strength of the locking associated with this intrinsic obstacle. Then, the obtained values have been compared for the different alloys.
