Effect of Heat treatment on Microstructure and Properties of Ti-3Al-2. 5V Titanium Alloy Tubes
In the present work, the microstructure evolution of Ti-3Al-2. 5V titanium alloy tube billet at different quenching temperatures and the effect of annealing temperature on the microstructure,the properties and fracture surfaces of Ti-3Al-2. 5V tubes were studied. Results show that when Ti-3AJ-2. 5V titanium alloy tube billets were quenchtreated,the phase transition temperature is 920℃; to 925℃. When the temperature is lower than 920℃, the volume of recrystallization orphase increases with the quenching temperature. The microstructure of finished tubes annealed at different temperature show that partial recrystallization takes place when the annealing temperature is 550℃. When the annealing temperature is 700℃,the volume of the recrystallization a grains increase rapidly. When the annealing temperature is 750℃, it is almost fully recrystallization. The tensile strength and yield strength decrease slowly while the elongation increases indistinctively when the annealing temperature is below 550t. When the annealing temperature exceeds 550℃ ,the tensile strength and the yield strength decrease rapidly and the elongation increases remarkably. So the excellent matching performances can get when the annealing temperature is 550℃. The fiactograph of cold-rolled tubes and annealed tubes exhibited typical ductile dimple fracture pattern. But the size of dimples varies with the different annealing temperature. The higher the annealing temperature, the bigger the size of dimples is.
