Effect of Hot-rolling on Microstructure and Mechanical Property of BT14 Alloy
BT14 alloy is a kind of heat-strengthened (α+β) titanium alloy, which was originally developed by Russia and applied in fabricating welding-structures, fastening pieces and forging pieces. BT14 alloy in this paper were investigated to study the effect of hot-rolling on microstructure and mechanical property. It was found that alloys consisted of α+β phase, and grain was refined significantly after hot-rolling to 10mm sheet from 80mm forged-slab. There was no obvious improvement in room temperature tensile strength induced by hot-rolling, but a little increment in room temperature plasticity. Results in this paper contributed to optimization of rolling technology, which assured the homogeneity of mechanical property in BT14 alloy.
