Effects of Heat Treatment on Microstructures and Properties of TA15 Alloy
Titanium has low density and high strength, good corrosion and erosion resistance to different media, good oxidation resistance, and moderate strength at high temperatures, which making it attractive for industrial applications. TA15 alloy is good compromise between the higher strength of alloys and the creep resistance of simple alloys. Due to its high specific strength, good resistance against heat and corrosion, excellent weldability,TA15 alloy had been widely used in aviation and aerospace structural components in our country and abroad. Different microstructures may lead to different hot deformation characteristics, which directly decides whether the selected heat treatment is reasonable or not. The effects of heat treatment temperature on microstructure and high temperature tensile properties of TA15 alloy were studied. Under different heat treatment temperature, the equaixed degree and content of primary alpha, and the size of secondary alpha have great effects on the tensile properties. The Rm values at room temperature and 500° C increased with heat treatment temperature, and are stabilized above 840℃. The 500℃-tensile fractures exhibited many equiaxed dimples dimple, and were similar in different annealing conditions.
