Influence of Oxygen Content on the Hardness of Ti-23Nb-0.7Ta-2Zr-O Alloy
Ti-23Nb-0. 7Ta-2Zr-O alloys with different oxygen content (from 1. 34 mol. % to 6. 15 mol. %) were prepared using a non-consumable arc-melting method. The Vickers-hardnesses (HV) of the β-solution-treated alloys, containing single β phase with bcc crystal structure, were tested. It was found that the HV increased dramatically as the increase of oxygen content. The quantitative relationship between the HV and the oxygen content were established and discussed in this alloy system
