Manufacture of Titanium condenser tubes for Nuclear industry in China
Xi an Baotimet Valinox Tubes has started to manufacture Titanium Welded Tubes in 2007. Those Titanium Tubes were firstly for fossil thermal powerstations,desalination and Process industry. Due to the decision of the Chinese Government to start an ambitious nuclear program, the demand of condenser tubes has dramatically increased. Today,all titanium tubes for Chinese nuclear applications are imported. Consequently,it has been decided to upgrade the standards of the manufacturing plant in Xian.to comply with the high quality level required by the nuclear industry. Those upgrades are the fruit of 35 years of experience in welded tube manufacture for worldwide nuclear industry. The first part of this paper will be a brief description of the standard specification for the manufacture of titanium welded Tubes. Then, we will demonstrate the necessity of certain additional NDT requirements, to guaranty the necessary quality level for nuclear applications.
