Achievable Rates with Lattice Codes for a Multicast Channel with Relays
Relays can be helpful in increasing the rates and to manage/utilize the interference. One interesting scenario in cellular networks is about the users who are to be accessed by the base station of another cell. We consider a multicast channel with a relay and analyze the achievable rates under Gaussian channel. We analyze our results based on the structured lattice codes. Our model consists of multiple (e.g. two) source-destination pairs and a relay. Relay helps to exploit information from the interference signals and forward it to the destination nodes. The relay node decodes linear functions of the messages sent by the source nodes. It forwards the decoded functions to the destination nodes which finally decode their desired messages. This approach is the so called interference forwarding and/or compute-and-forward.
