Aphasia of Local Media in Public Crisis
Academia of China started to focus on the performance of media in the Event of SARS in 2003, while a series of public crises in 2008 deepened their study on the reporting methods and the communicative effects. However, local media are relatively less studied, so this paper studies and analyzes the function of crisis management based on the local media’s performance in crises. Taking some typical public crisis events in China as examples, this papar explores the status quo, problems of aphasia and reasons in Chinese local media, and proposes some advice to develop the function of Chinese local media and improve their credibility when they deal with public crises.
