Factors Affecting the non-agricultural employment A Case Study in Fengxin and Yifeng, China
It is of great significance to study nonagricultural employment of rural labor, for improving the income level and promoting full employment of farmers. With the deepening marketoriented reforms, instead of agricultural income, nonagricultural one has become the principal part of total income of farmers. Conversion trend is clear. Based on the survey data of 83 farmers in November 2008 in Fengxin and Yifeng County, Jiangxi Province, China, using Probit model as the main analyzing tool, the research analyses the influence of education, sex, age, training situation, marital status, labor burden and per capita land area on offfarm employment decisions. Furthermore, recommendations are presented basing on the results obtained above.
