Hydrodynamic Calculations and Analysis of the Suspended Sediments Transport Mechanism in the North Passage of Yangtze Estuary

On the basis of analyzing for two tide cycles successive survey results on the tidal flow and suspended sediment, this article uses equal-area grids method and compiles the handler to calculate and analyze the flux and mechanism of suspended sediment in the North passage. The result shows that, in the two successive tide cycles, the Lagrangian residual flow transport and the pumping effect are the main transportation in the North passage of Yangtze estuary, while the shear transport contribution is small. The advective sediment flux, which contributes almost all the flux at every moment, is the most important item. And the vertical gravitational circulation and vertical tidal oscillation shear contribute little to the total sediment discharge; their interaction effect is faint too.
