Management of Baguazhou Branch and Development at Nanjing Riverside of the Yangtze River
The Baguazhou in Nanjing reach of the Yangtze River has experienced the shift between mainstream and branch. After many times of regulations, the river regime is basically stable, but the left branch is still in slow recession. With less water enters into and the riverbed lifts up in the left branch gradually, it is affecting the operational safety of riverside large enterprises, as well as the demand of riverside utilization and the stability of downstream river regime. It is an urgent demand for comprehensive management to further stabilize and improve the water regime and increase the diversiondischarge ratio of left branch appropriately, thus providing an appropriate water condition for the riverside development and promote the sustainable development of economy,
