MULTISCALE MODELLING OF REACTIVE TRANSPORT PHENOMENA IN CATALYST LAYERS OF PROTON EXCHANGE MEMBRANE FUEL CELLS

The structure and function of the catalyst layers (CLs) evolve over a wide range of scales: from microscopic process at supported nanoparticles to the operation in a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) at the macroscopic device level. Because of the limitations in the development of science and technology, previously separate approaches at different scales are mainly considered to reduce the challenges for theory and modeling of CLs.
