Cobalt Borides Prepared via Chemical Reduction Method as Anode Materials for Alkaline Secondary Batteries

In recent years, high performance metal boride materials for alkaline secondary batteries have been kept a watchful eye on. There are some reports for the synthesis of metal borides, such as ball milling method, arc melting method, and high temperature solid-phase method, etc. Among which chemical reduction method is simple and efficient. In this study, chemical reduction is applied to synthesize cobalt borides, which are use as anode materials for secondary alkaline batteries. The crystal structure, particle size and specific surface area of Co-B alloys were characterized and analyzed via X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption test, respectively.
