PLUG IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES AS DISPERSED ENERGY STORAGE INTERACTIONS WITH A SMART OFFICE BUILDING

Distribute generators (DGs), mainly wind, solar, and microturbine(MT) can reduce carbon emission. As the plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) being gradually accepted by social place, the utility will face a great challenge if EVs acting only as a load. In this paper, a smart building energy management system (SBEMS) is proposed, taking into account the overall system (grid, DGs, and EVs), and using the concept named vehicle-to-building (V2B) by treating EVs as energy storage and small power generator. The objective of the SBEMS is to minimize the total cost of the daily operation of the building. Furthermore, a simulation is presented including the office building daily load demand and the PV power prediction. The results show that introducing the BSEMS the whole building cost is reduced and the building emission is also reduced.
