The Effect of Psychological Contract Violation on Employees EVLN Responses: The Moderating Effect of Collectivism
Korean public enterprises have long been called ―Gods workplace‖ by college graduates, since they have provided great working conditions of job security, pay, and fringe benefits. However, this no longer holds true. Since the foreign currency crisis of 1997, Korean public enterprises have carried out a large-scale restructuring, including layoffs and outsourcing. The incumbent Lee Myung-Bak administration initiated the advancement plan in order to improve managerial efficiency. In particular, as a response to the 2008 global financial crisis, the Lee administration imposed pay cuts on employees of public enterprises. Due to this gradual but aggravating decline in working conditions, public employees now feel disappointed with the organizations that did not fulfill the expectations they had when they joined.
