LOFA ANALYSIS OF A NEW TYPE SCWR

The Supercritical Water-cooled Reactor(SCWR) is the only one of the six Generation IV reactorconcepts proposed by Generation IV International Forum(GIF), which uses light water as its coolant. Agreat amount of countries show great interests in studying SCWR for its considerable advantages insystem simplicity, high thermal efficiency, generation cost reduction. In this paper, a new type SCWRis proposed by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Company (CGNPC). Its safety performance underloss of coolant accident (LOFA) is evaluated and the results indicate that the CGNPC SCWR is capableto deal with LOFA.
