SAFETY ANALYSIS OF A NEW DESIGNED SCWR IN LOSS OF COOLANT ACCIDENT

The research presents a new kind of Supercritical Water-cooled Reactor designed by ChinaGuangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN-SCWR), which has a two-pass coolant systemand a series of passive safety measures. And this paper makes a mathematical model forsimulating the transient in Loss of Coolant Accident. Based on this model, a system analysiscode SCTRAN was developed by CNPRI-XJTU SCWR Joint Lab for analysing the SCWRtransient. The analysis results prove that the core of the CGN-SCWR with a large break on thecold leg can be well cooled due to the application of the passive safety systems.
