CORE DESIGN OF DL-SCWR WITH 3-D COUPLED NEUTRONICS/THERMAL-HYDRAULICS ANALYSIS

A kind of Double-row fuel rods assembly SCWR (DL-SCWR) core design with a 3-D neutionics/thermal-hydraulics coupling method will be introduced in this paper. The DL-SCWR core isdesigned for reaching a thermal power of 2280 MW with an equivalent diameter of 3.16 m andlength of 4.20 m. There are 249 fuel assemblies in the core, and 180 fuel rods in each assembly. Theinlet coolant temperature ure is 280 ℃ and the operation pressure is 25 MPa. There are 80 freshassemblis in the equilibrium cycle. The numerical results show that the refueling cycle length couldreach 430 EFPD. The average discharged burnup of the equilibrium is 37GWD/tU,and the averageoutlet coolant temperature is 500 ℃ with a maximum cladding surface temperature less than 700 ℃.
