INVESTIGATION ON EJECTION DYNAMICS OF AIR LAUNCHED MISSILE
An air launched missile and its ejection type launcher was modeled to investigate their performance. The launcher used a pneumatic system with high pressure cylinder as power source. Based on the mathematical models of the pneumatic elements, a model for the pneumatic system of the launcher was developed using MATLAB/Simulink. Blocks of condition selection and judgment were adopted in Simulink to simulate the separation between the missile and the pneumatic actuator of the launcher. The missile was modeled as a rigid body and a flexible body in the software ADAMS. The dynamic response of the missile and the performance of the pneumatic system were obtained by conducting co-simulation. The difference between the results of the rigid body and flexible body model for the missile is small. It is showed that the rigid body assumption for the missile is acceptable to investigate the ejection dynamics.
