A SIMULATION-OPTIMIZATION METHOD FOR THE RELEASE CONTROL OF A RE-ENTRANT SYSTEM
Release control plays an important role on the performance of a re-entrant manufacturing system. To meet a real re-entrant systems requirements, a simulation-optimization method based on a genetic algorithm is proposed to obtain an optimal release plan with the shortest makespan. The simulation results show that the proposed method can reduce the redundancy of simulations effectively and obtain an optimal solution for a large-scale re-entrant system in a reasonable time.
