TREATMENT OF 33 CASES OF ANTERIOR SCALENE MUSCLE SYNDROME IN THE AREA OF CERVICAL TRANSVERSE PROCESSES BY ELECTRO-ACUPUNCTURE PLUS TUINA
Objective: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture plus tuina therapy on treating the anterior scalene muscle syndrome in the area of cervical transverse processes. Methods: Electroacupuncture and tuina was applied to 33 patients with the anterior scalene muscle syndrome. Needling in the area of cervical transverse processes and connecting each pair of needles with electro-acupuncture device for 25 minutes, then performing tuina manipulation on the local affected area mentioned above, once a day, for 6 times as a therapeutic course. In addition, patients were instructed to hot compress with TDP instrument or thermos bottle and gently massage in the affected area of cervical transverse processes by themselves at home.
