REDUNDANT GENE ELIMINATION BY SHUFFLED FROG LEAPING OPTIMIZATION

In the field of bioinformatics, redundant gene selection is an important technique to improve the performance of learning models. This paper proposes a novel algorithm on Redundant Gene Elimination by Shuffled Frog Leaping Optimization (RGE-SFLO), which tries to find a compact gene subset with great predictive ability and little inner redundancy. Compared with the previous works, RGE-SFLO tries to find the optimal gene subset by the shuffled frog leaping optimization, which is a very efficient optimization algorithm. The outstanding performance of RGE-SFLO has been examined by the experiments on several real world microarray data sets.
