MULTI-OBJECTIVE QUANTUM-BEHAVED PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL/ECONOMIC DISPATCH PROBLEM

This paper presents a non-dominated sorting quantumbehaved particle swarm optimization (NSQPSO) to solve the Environmental/economic dispatch (EED) problem. The EED problem is formulated as a nonlinear constrained multi-objective optimization problem with two competing and non-commensurable objectives. The NSQPSO uses a non-dominated sorting and ranking procedure with crowding distance to obtain a well distributed Pareto-optimal set. The proposed method is validated on the standard IEEE 30 bus system with 6 generators. The simulation results compared with several other methods show that the NSQPSO is able to produce a well distributed Pareto-optimal solutions for EED problem.
