Conjugate Film Condensation and Porous Free Convection
The present work deals with heat transfer communication between free convection in a fluid-saturated porous medium and film condensation in a saturated vapour medium. The thermal conjugation process is analyzed by considering the heat conduction across the vertical solid wall separating the two heat transfer modes. The analysis reveals that the thermal interaction process is mainly controlled by the thermal resistance ratio of solid separating wall to natural convection, and the relative importance of condensate film resistance to natural convection resistance. Asymptotic and numerical results are found for a wide range of controlling parameters. Comparison with other previous studies is presented.
