Convection in Molten Semiconductor-Metal Layers in the Presence of Thermodiffusion

In this work modeling of thermodiffusion (thermomigration) is investigated in a binary molten semiconductormetal mixture, which is locally present in the zone melting temperature gradient (ZMTG) method. Linear nonequilibrium thermodynamics is used to model the process. The model is tested against the experimental data.
