Studies on SAPO-34–ethanol Working Pairs for Adsorption Refrigeration

SAPO-34 molecular sieve and ethanol were selected as adsorption working pairs in the paper. The adsorption isotherms of ethanol on SAPO-34 molecular sieve were obtained by high-vacuum gravimetric method. The desorption behavior of ethanol on SAPO-34 molecular sieve was investigated by thermogravimetry (TG)-differential thermal analysis (DTA) on a WCT-1 type thermal balance. The effect of regeneration temperature on refrigeration amount was studied. The results show: the shape of ethanol adsorption isotherm on SAPO-34 molecular sieve is Brunauer typeⅠ.The maximum equilibrium adsorption amount of ethanol can reach 0.21 kg/kg at 35℃. The main desorption peak of ethanol on SAPO-34 molecular sieve is 108℃. With the increase of regeneration temperature, refrigeration quantity per mass adsorbent increases gradually. Regenerated at a temperature of 200℃, adsorption refrigeration amount of SAPO-34–ethanol pairs is 82.2kJ/kg, which is 2.74 times than that at a temperature of 100℃.
