Effects of Thermal Conductivity and Shape of fillers on Thermal Conductivity of Polymer Composites

The purpose of this paper is to characterize the effects of thermal conductivity and shape of fillers on composite materials using a numerical approach. The filler particles are uniformity populated in the polymer matrix. FLUENT is used to calculate the thermal conductivity of the composite materials by two-dimensional models. The microstructure of composite materials filled with fillers of various shapes is modeled. It is disclosed that the effect of filler thermal conductivity on various shapes fillers filled composite conductivity is different.
