Simple Capacity Estimation Method for CHP unit

In this study, a simple capacity estimation method for CHP unit was presented which could be installed in high heat-to-power ratio (HPR) demand side under prohibited electricity selling condition. This method is presented in two different methods which are graphical method and simple equation and both methods predicted optimum capacity within 7% and 15% errors, respectively, compared to previous studies. Especially, simple equation has its merit in selecting optimum capacity by only using base and peak loads of demand sides power load. These two methods are applicable to any buildings, regions and energy price structures and help future CHP owners to use easily.
