Experimental Studies on Multi-functional Modes of Heat Pumps

Existing air conditioning systems basically operate as a reversal of the heat pump’s principle. Waste heat is discharged at the cooling production process. Heat recovery devices and research are readily available for the large air-conditioning systems. Nevertheless the heat recovery facilities are still not common for household air conditioners. Against this background, the project develops a testing heat pump prototype to examine the technical feasibility of combining cooling, heating and water heating function in the heat pump. The parameters under scrutiny include water temperature, cooling temperature, compressor’s exhaust temperature and pressure, power consumption plus espective coefficient of performances (COPs).
