Researches on Natural Convection Heat Transfer in an Enclosed Cavity Used For Cooling Solar PV Module
Aiming at lowering solar cells’ operating temperature in order to improve their efficiency, theCool-Storage Mode Solar Photovoltaic Module is presented by the author. The module’s heat transfer model is divided into two parts: one is the conduction, convection and radiation of the solar cells’ layers, the other is conduction and natural convection of the enclosure. Then the paper researches on these two parts separately by using energy balance equations and numeral simulations, summarizes the “feedback and modify method to solve the cool-storage water tank’s natural convection coefficient. The standard test condition and actual climate parameters are used during the research, which proved the cool-storage method is helpful in lowering the solar cells’ temperature so as to increase the efficiency.
