A Conical Tool Posture Control Algorithm for Five-Axis CNC Machining
Conical surfaces are commonly used in the industrial product design. In order to improve the machining accuracy of such parts, a conical tool posture control algorithm is proposed, which abandon disadvantages of traditional linear interpolation algorithm. A new definition of conical orientation spline is given and the procedure of establishment of the curve is explained in detail. Then a model of error evaluation is built. Tool orientation vector error is calculated and the relationship between tool orientation vector error and machining accuracy is then analyzed. Finally, effectiveness and practicality of this algorithm are verified by simulation.
