A Nanosecond High Voltage Impluse Protector for small signal measurement device
In high voltage partial discharge experiments, the partial discharge measurement device is in the risk of fast transient high voltage because of insulation sample breakdows. An protector is designed based on the gas discharge tube and switching diode to protect the measurement devices. The frequency spectrum of the protector was measured by square signal and sine wave signal. Its protection capability were proved by nanosecond high voltage impulse, high voltage lightning impulse, and oil insulation breakdown trans instantaneous high voltage. The test results showed that the protector has wide frequency beyond 80MHz. And the outage voltage fo the protector can be limited to 2V even if its input come up to 30kV and less than 5ns.
