The Effect of Vetrical Milling on Finished Surface of Polymethyl-methacrylate Sheet
The aim of this research was to vertical milling, which was affected on finished surface of Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). The experiment was done by CNC vertical milling with four flutes High-Speed Steel milling cutter. The factorial design was applied and factors were consisted of three levels of cutting speed and feed rate, including of two direction of milling; up-cut and down cut. The results revealed that factors affected on face surface roughness were feed rate and direction of milling. On the other hand, cutting speed was not main affected factor. Moreover, cutting speed and feed rate were the main effect on side surface finish. Also, interaction between direction of milling with cutting speed and cutting speed with feed would be affect to side surface too. The effect of three factors on surface finish were analyzed and discussed.
