DRIVE OF MICRO PARTICLES AROUND VIBRATION NODE OF COPPER SUBSTRATE VIBRATING IN FLEXURAL MODE

In this paper, the authors put forward a novel method of using copper substrate to drive micro particles, based on our previous research results of driving micro particles on wedged substrate in vibration. The method utilizes piezoelectric ceramics to excite copper substrate asymmetrically, and makes use of travelling waves along the circles centered at a vibration node of the copper substrate in flexural vibration to drive the micro particles agglomerated around the vibration node to rotate. The experimental results demonstrate that the revolution speed of driven particles is related to vibration velocity of copper substrate, operating frequency of AC driving voltage, number of rotating particles and spatial arrangement of rotating particles.
