Empirical Research on the Relationship between Energy Consumption and Economic Growth in Heilongjiang Province
Energy is t he essential material foundation of ec onomic and s ocial de velopment for t he sub sistence and devel opment of human bei ngs. Nowadays, va rious countries are suffering from energy crisis which restricts economic dev elopment. Thi s pap er i s based on t he energy consumption and GD P dat a of Heilongjiang province fro m 1 980 to 2009 of using unit r oot test, cointegration analysis and Granger causality test, aiming atv alidatingth e relationship b etweenHeilon gjiang energy co nsumption a nd e conomic gro wth. Em pineal analysis shows that energy consumption can be strongly driven by economic growt h, howe ver, ene rgy consumption plays a relative sm all ro le on pro moting economic gro wth, a nd t hen t his pa per puts forward countermeasures and suggestions.
