Post-Disaster Reconstruction and Terror Management in China

摘要：

Post-disaster reconstruction includes two aspects: material reconstruction and psychological reconstruction. We all know that peoples behavior is controlled by their mental forces. So in a sense, we can consider the psychological reconstruction as a basic foundation of the material reconstruction. But the reality in the process of post-disaster reconstruction is that many people emphasize on the material reconstruction more often than psychological reconstruction. And psychological reconstruction does not receive a proper attention. This paper points out the importance of the psychological reconstruction in post-disaster reconstruction, and applies terror management theory to the psychological reconstruction. The article also introduces the development and application of the terror management theory in China, points out the limitations of terror management theory at present, and suggests its future development.
