A Distribution Model for the Staged Usage of Emergency Supplies

In this paper, a modeling approach is presented to split the stages of the usage of emergency supplies in disaster-relief operations. A system dynamics model is build to compare the effect of three distribution options of first-aid supplies in disaster-affected area. The simulation results show that: whether to consider the stages of usage will have a significant impact on aid effectiveness; and these factors should be fully considered in the establishment of relevant models, especially for the supplies type of life-saving.
