A Novel Tunable Semiconductor Laser Based on a Sampled Grating Reflector and an Interleaved Sampled Grating Reflector
A widely tunable distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser is proposed for achieving wider wavelength tuning range, which consists a front reflector based on normal sampled grating (SG) and a rear reflector based on interleaved sampled grating (ISG). The interleaved sampled grating (ISG) has an advantage of other complex structures, easy for fabrication. Simulation results demonstrated that wavelength tuning range can be over 100nm.
